Disturbed’s incredibly successful cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound Of Silence” is now the soundtrack of a new video released by NASA. The footage in the clip was filmed from the International Space Station during Expedition 53 and was captured by Commander Randy Bresnik as well as flight engineers Sergey Ryazanskiy and Paolo Nespoli. The song underneath expansive shots of the Earth, views of giant urban electrical grids and flashes of sunlight cresting across the curve of the planet. Since its August 21st, 2015 release Disturbed’s take on the track has gone double platinum in the U.S. alone for sales and/or streams of more than two million copies. The video for the track, released in December 2015, has been seen more than 292 million times, a record number of views on YouTube for the group.
